where there is a will there is a way

This is the first painting I started last week, using my left/non dominant hand.  However, as it came together I could also use my right hand with mostly wrist movement and small brush marks. 

Computer dictation functions have helped me write this post. 

The scene It is based on a photo I took last summer at our cabin up north, a place I would love to be. 

30 in 30: Day Four - Woodland

This painting was inspired by the photo below, which I took last October. 
At that time I used it as a basis for a painting I titled Autumn Colours. 

I really liked the photo and my first painting, but wanted to do another version, abstracting the subject further and using a different palette. The DPW challenge this week was to work with complementary colours, something I tend to do anyway, so I chose a blue and orange palette, and started working on it yesterday. I finished it today and have to say I am really pleased with the result. And it is my fourth painting in the 30 in 30 challenge.
