I am having so much fun painting closely cropped faces! This one is all about   a restricted palette, and allowing the darkest value areas (hair) to merge into the adjacent darkest value areas (background foliage) - yet when seen as a whole, the figure emerges. This is number 13 in the 30 paintings in 30 days.....almost half way there!
