A Second Painting from Joucas

After painting the first plein air landscape in Joucas a few weeks ago, I had some time left before lunch and I decided to do a quick painting of this view.  I liked the various tree shapes and the diagonal lines creating the fore, middle and back grounds. I blocked in these shapes and because it was a gloomy day and I was craving some juicy colour,  I decided on a very warm intense palette, and quickly laid down some watery acrylic paint.
I continued to paint and eventually began to eliminate and shift shapes and elements so that in the end I had quite a different composition.
Not my best work! In retrospect I should have left it at stage one. Ah well, it was fun and tomorrow is another day!
